2. Improve Your Digital Communication Skills<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since remote and hybrid work are on the rise, the need for better communication among coworkers is increasing. As much as we use Zoom for our meetings, most communication is through writing.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are a few quick tips to ensure clear and upbuilding communication when talking to your teammates: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lead with a key point:<\/strong> Remember that others\u2019 time is just as precious as yours. When writing a message, open with the main point you want your coworkers to know.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consider the tone:<\/strong> Use punctuation to convey the tone. Keep your communication friendly with a healthy dose of exclamation points, emojis, and GIFs. Used sparingly, they can be helpful tools in establishing the correct tone to your messages.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stay away from negativity:<\/strong> Avoid using sentences like \u201cYou probably didn\u2019t…\u201d or \u201cPerhaps you\u2019ve missed…”. These are minefields to any team, and they also can backfire on the one who used them. Instead, choose a neutral or positive approach. For example, \u201cHow are you handling the workload for this project?\u201d or \u201cDid you have a chance to look at the report I sent you last week?\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
