Cycle Brackets is useful when you need to separate a chart into periods (cycles), so that you can predict an uptrend/downtrend tendency at the start of the next cycle. Every cycle is measured from one point to another.
The Cycle Brackets are drawn by specifying two points. To add Cycle Brackets to the chart, click its name or the iconon the Drawings Panel. Then, do the following steps:
- Specify a point on the chart where the price is the lowest.
- Move the pointer right or left to the next lowest point adjusting the width of the cycle by the time scale at the bottom.
Note: To cancel drawing, press ESC
Actions with the Cycle Brackets
- To edit the shape of the Cycle Brackets, point to its line and drag it by one of the points.
- To move the Cycle Brackets, point to its line and simply drag it to where you want it on the chart.
Note: To open the settings window, double-click the line on the chart
Cycle Brackets Toolbar
Color. In the Color section, you can change the color of the Cycle Brackets. The slider at the bottom is intended to set transparency of the color. To create a custom color:
The custom-created colors are added to your palette. To remove a custom color, drag it out of the palette. |
Weight. In the Weight section, you can set the thickness and style for the line of the Cycle Brackets (currently, only dashed style is available). |
Settings. A set of parameters that are described in Cycle Brackets Settings. |
Lock. Locks the drawing position. The figure cannot be moved or edited on the chart. |
Delete. Removes the Cycle Brackets from the chart. |
Note: To delete Cycle Brackets, you can also press the Delete or Backspace button on your keyboard
Cycle Brackets Settings
- Coordinates. The coordinates of the Cycle Brackets. You can specify manually by filling out the values for the prices, dates and time.
- Style. In this section, you can set a color and style for the border line of the Cycle Brackets or the background color of the highlighted area inside the Cycle Brackets.
Clear Background checkbox to remove the filling of the Cycle Brackets.
Click Close to apply the settings.
At the bottom-left corner of the window, click Restore Defaults to reset the settings
