Price Line is a horizontal line that marks a certain value on the price scale. This drawing tool is generally used to show specific price targets and identify support and resistance levels.
To add a Price Line to the chart, click its name or the iconon the Drawings Panel. Move the line up and down to adjust the exact price value using the price scale, then click on the chart to place the line.
Note: To cancel drawing, press ESC
Actions with the Price Line
- To move the Price Line, simply drag it to where you want it on the chart
Note: To open the settings window, double-click the line on the chart
Price Line Toolbar
Color. In the Color section, you can change the color of the Price Line. The slider at the bottom is intended to set transparency of the color. To create a custom color:
The custom-created colors are added to your palette. To remove a custom color, drag it out of the palette. |
Weight. In the Weight section, you can set the thickness and style for the line (currently, only dashed style is available). |
Settings. A set of parameters that are described in Price Line Settings. |
Lock. Locks the drawing position. The figure cannot be moved or edited on the chart. |
Delete. Removes a line from the chart. |
Note: To delete a line, you can also press the Delete or Backspace button on your keyboard
Price Line Settings
- Coordinates. The coordinates of the initial point of the Price Line that you can specify manually by filling out the price value.
Click to the left of Show price to highlight the value on the price scale on the chart. - Style. In this section, you can set a color and style for the line.
- Extend. The line extends indefinitely in both directions from the initial point.
Clear To the left of To the right checkboxes to remove the extension in the right or left direction from the initial point respectively.
Note: At the bottom-left corner of the window, click Restore Defaults to reset the settings
