Although Devexperts landed the deliverables, the client identified additional needs from the charting. For Devexperts, the general approach is ‘if it makes sense, we’ll find a way to do it’. This is how the new version of DXcharts came to be.  It wasn’t just a few tweaks to cater to the client’s extra needs, it turned into a full-scale revamp, with a ‘while we’re at it, why don’t we optimize 𝔁 and 𝒚, and add 𝔃’ approach. Devexperts had been experimenting with an AI-powered solution that could be embedded within a firm’s trading platform as a widget, to bring together in one place, all the different technology functions a firm needs to run for engagement — automated chatbots, messaging channels (WhatsApp, Telegram, WeChat etc), group chats, syndication of market news feeds — all synced for ridiculously streamlined engagement. Think targeted broadcasting, push notifications, marketing campaigns, account support, and customer support, all executed from one widget.

The project, now known as Devexa, aligned with the client’s engagement and retention needs, and they quickly became a guinea pig. This style of collaboration between vendor and broker is super productive; everyone benefits: the client gets a first-of-its-kind technology, tailored to their needs, and Devexperts launches a product already tried and tested, with real benefits for other brokers, pushing the industry forward. 

At the client’s request, Devexperts upgraded Devexa by incorporating trading history and user portfolios into its analytics. This enhancement allows Devexa to personalize news for each trader based on their specific data, using its AI-driven recommendation engine. To further enhance engagement, Devexa now sends targeted news directly to users, with real-time notifications designed to prompt immediate action. This development was a collaborative effort, tailored to meet the client’s specific needs. Additionally, the client and Devexperts can adjust the intensity of these notifications by fine-tuning the recommendation algorithms.

DXtrade Enterprise

After about eight months in production, the client realized they wanted greater influence over the product backlog of DXtrade. As their long-term vision required more flexibility than what a standard license could offer, Devexperts upgraded the client to a DXtrade Enterprise. Under the Enterprise agreement, the dedicated delivery team is looking after the client, and both the priorities and the exact requirements are in the hands of the client, offering limitless possibilities.

Results

The client began with the default SaaS option of DXtrade, then drove the evolution of DXcharts, upgrading and piloting the new release. They then opted in for Devexa and increased the number of use cases for the AI-powered omnichannel platform. For the cake-topper on the partnership, the client later realized they would like to influence the product backlog of DXtrade. Their longer term vision required more flexibility than a standard license allows, so Devexperts was more than happy to accommodate this by upgrading the client to an Enterprise license where anything is possible.

Trading Platform for a Funded Trader Firm in MENA Region

About the Client

With a global network of traders, this client is a formidable presence in the funded trading industry. The Middle Eastern firm operates internationally from Dubai and has no plans of slowing down or plateauing. Their focus remains on retention and evolving where needed to continue rapid expansion of their user base.

Business Challenge

The client was ready to scale with ambitious growth plans, but this required a trading platform capable of supporting this trajectory. 

They also outlined additional objectives:

  • User analytics indicated their clients liked to trade on the go. They needed native mobile applications for Android and iOS. 
  • Connectivity with liquidity providers, through FXCubic aggregator. 

The client was seeking a vendor that could provide an all-encompassing solution.

Solution

Platform capable of supporting growth

DXtrade is a white-label platform with a proven ability to grow with a business of a broker or a funded trader firm. It has allowed both start-ups and established firms to significantly expand their user base, without compromising performance. 

Mobile trading

DXtrade includes a duo of independent, native mobile apps. The exclusive app would mean the client is not subject to the risks associated with a pool application app (where a vendor’s app is shared by multiple brokers). This would give the client a level of control, flexibility, and security optimal for growth, along with meeting the expectations of their clients —trading on the go, with a responsive app. 

Connectivity with liquidity providers

Although FXCubic integration (a priority liquidity aggregator for the client) was not originally included in the basic DXtrade SaaS package, Devexperts typically includes such integrations at no additional cost. This benefits this client and everybody else running their business on DXtrade.

Personalized delivery and maintenance

As part of our DXtrade SaaS offering, the client would benefit from 24/7 technical support, with immediate access to a team of experts, on hand to provide guidance whenever needed.

Results

DXtrade’s solution was implemented within just two weeks. 

FXCubic was successfully integrated; the integration project team faced no impediments, thanks to the standard FXCubic API and the availability of numerous ready-made connectors, adapters, and tools for connecting liquidity providers and aggregators.

The accelerated process both sped up the time to market, and reduced costs and resources, helping the client remain aligned with budget targets. 

The smooth transition to the new platform was enthusiastically received by traders, with the native mobile app allowing them to access the platform anytime, anywhere. 

The project was a success, with each of the client’s objectives met, and their expectations around quality, flexibility and execution of delivery exceeded.

Engagement and Retention Tool for a Funded Trader Firm

About the Client

The client is a young and fast-growing funded trading firm in Europe.

Business Challenge

The client faced a number of challenges related to high customer churn rates and satisfaction. Their marketing resources were solely focused on acquiring customers, without adequate retention efforts. The client was seeking to 

  • enhance user engagement
  • reduce the percentage of users switching to competitors
  • scale their operations without proportional cost increases.

The client’s hypothesis was that generative AI could make the platform stickier and that AI integration could be a recipe for increased user engagement, tailored entertainment, and ultimately, business growth. 

Finally, as the client was running on DXtrade, a white-label of Devexperts’ CFD platform, the ideal solution would require native integration with the platform’s web terminal.

Devexperts proposed to enable Devexa inside DXtrade and use it to tackle these challenges.

Project Charter

After a series of consultations, the client and Devexperts defined the key hypotheses:

A new stock market news feed with personalization:
In order to improve the user activity and engagement metrics, the new stock news feed is to be plugged into Devexa. Devexa can fetch the news upon traders’ request and the embedded AI recommendation engine inside Devexa would reshuffle and filter the news based on the traders’ account. 

Stock news push notifications:

To bring engagement to  a whole new level, Devexa would push relevant news to online users. As the news and their relevance to the given user are calculated, real-time notifications can act like a squawk box, alerting traders to act. The client and Devexperts can control and gauge the aggressiveness of the notifications, by tuning Devexa’s recommendation algos. 

Dutch language support:

Devexa is to enhance its list of supported languages by improving support for Dutch. 

This upgrade would enhance the user experience (the client’s users are predominantly Dutch-speaking), increase user engagement, and improve retention.

Personalization

Devexa already had AI in service: it uses neural networks and machine learning algorithms for natural language understanding, intent classification, retrieval-augmented generation, and news feed ranking.

In the scope of this project, Devexperts added account trading history and users’ portfolios into the data used by the recommender system.

It turned out there are differences in the usage patterns between the clients of prop firms and the clients of brokerage firms. It was quite insightful to analyze these differences in the datasets on the way they use the trading web app, the AI assistant widget.

Push Notifications

Devexperts developed a custom news feed module within the platform, ensuring real-time delivery of relevant news updates to traders. They also implemented a push notification system to alert traders of important news events, enhancing user engagement and providing valuable market insights.

Push Notifications Tuning

The first rollouts of the feature received mixed feedback. While Devexa ensured that traders received only relevant and timely news notifications, some users complained that the news buzz  was quite noisy and annoying. The client and Devexperts team tried several versions of the recommendation engine, considering intermittence, and various heights of the relevance threshold. Eventually, the feature was refined to strike a balance between providing timely, relevant updates and reducing information overload.

Widget designs seek balance: Engagement vs. retention

Widget Redesign

The testing has shown that the push notifications – especially when their frequency is intense – break the default conversational UI of Devexa: the news would interfere with the chat design. That triggered a rethinking and prompted a comprehensive redesign of the Devexa widget to accommodate for different user scenarios: live chat, AI assistant, company announcements, and market news.

The new UI features separate tabs, for Support and News Feed, providing a more intuitive and streamlined interface for traders.

Dutch Language Support

Devexa employs proprietary in-house neural networks to process natural language for prioritized languages and fallbacks to cloud AI for less commonly used languages. In the scope of this project, Devexperts has enhanced support for Dutch, the main language of the client’s user base.

Results

The client was provided with a package of DXtrade and Devexa. Devexa has been enhanced to specifically address engagement issues, in addition to its existing communication features.

Following the delivery, the client analyzed the user’s feedback and suggested further refinement. After a few iterations, Devexa precisely met the client’s expectations.

The client achieved enhancements in their user engagement.

This was the first launch of Devexa with a funded trading firm. The fact that most of the features requested could be delivered in weeks, suggests that our positioning, which initially targeted brokers, works for the funded trader companies, too.
